// why this matters

Small things that make a Pin flop.

Title and description limits

Pinterest titles are capped at 100 characters and descriptions at 500. Go over and your text gets cut off. Preview the exact length here.

Image aspect ratio

Pinterest favors vertical images (2:3). Upload yours here to see how it will be cropped and displayed in the feed.

Dark mode readability

Many users browse in dark mode. Toggle the preview to ensure your text and image still pop against a dark background.

// what's inside

Everything you need to check before you save.

Live character rings

Real-time counters for both title (100) and description (500) so you never get cut off.

Image upload preview

Upload an image and see it rendered inside the mockup at the exact size and position Pinterest uses.

Board name & avatar

Customize the board name and upload a board icon to see how your Pin fits into its board context.

Light / dark mode

Switch instantly between Pinterest's light and dark display modes without leaving the page.

Download the mockup

Export your preview as a PNG to share with a client or teammate for approval.

No login, no posting

Nothing here connects to Pinterest. It's a private, local mockup — nothing is ever saved for you.

// how it works

// writing tips

Pins that get saved.

01

Front-load the title

The first few words of the title are what show in feeds. Put the most compelling keyword or phrase right up front.

02

Use the description wisely

Describe what the Pin is about and include relevant keywords, but keep it concise — 500 characters goes fast.

03

Choose a vertical image

Pinterest favors 2:3 aspect ratio images. Preview your upload to make sure it looks great in the feed.

04

Check both modes

Light and dark mode can change how your image and text appear. Use the toggle to ensure it reads well in both.

Questions, answered plainly.

What are the character limits for a Pinterest Pin?

Pinterest Pins have a title limit of 100 characters and a description limit of 500 characters. This tool counts both live and warns you as you approach the limits.

Can I preview an image with my Pin?

Yes. Upload an image and it will appear inside the mockup exactly where it would in a real Pin, so you can check the crop and composition.

Does this tool save the Pin to Pinterest for me?

No. This is a preview-only tool. It never connects to your Pinterest account and never saves anything on your behalf.

Can I see how my Pin looks in dark mode?

Yes. Use the light/dark toggle above the preview to check how your Pin renders in both of Pinterest's display modes.

Is my Pin text or image stored anywhere?

Your draft text is saved only in your own browser's local storage so it survives a refresh. Uploaded images are not saved and nothing is sent to a server.
